1/4 cup urad dal (split black lentils)
1/2 tsp fenugreek (methi) seeds
2 tbsp powdered sugar
salt to taste
ghee for cooking
8 tsp grated coconut

soaking rice, urad dal
- Put 3/4 cuprice (chawal)in a deep bowl.
- Add1/4 cupurad dal (split black lentils).
- Add1/2 tspfenugreek (methi) seeds.
- Add enough water. See the dirt. So clean.
- Rice, dal and fenugreek seeds are clean.Soak for 3 hours.
- Drain.
- Put in a mixer.
- Add 3/4th cup of water.
- Blendto a smooth paste.
- Transfer the mixture into a deep bowl and keep aside.
- Add 1/4 tsp salt.
- Mix well.
- Cover with a lid.Ferment in a warm place for 10 to 12 hours.
- Batter after fermenting.
- Once the batter is fermented, add 1/2 cupmashed banana.
- Add2 tbsppowdered sugar.
- Mix well.

- To make banana uttapam recipe |urad dal bananadosa |sweet uttapam |heat a non-stick tava (griddle), sprinkle a little water on the tava (griddle).
- Wipe it off gently using a cloth.
- Pour a ladleful of the batter on the tava (griddle), spread in a circular motion to make a 125 mm. (5") thick uttapam.
- Cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes.
- Sprinkle 1 1/2 tsp of grated coconut.
- Smear little ghee evenly all over.
- Turn over.
- Cook for 2 minutes on medium heat turning over a few times for a few seconds. We can also see the back side is well cooked and golden brown.
- Flip over. Your banana uttapam is ready.
- Serve banana uttapam |urad dal bananadosa |sweet uttapam | immediately.
tips for banana uttapam
- Texture of fermented batter.
- Press down the grated coconut with a spaula while cooking the uttapam.
